Charity Navigator has developed a plan to iterate and expand upon our preliminary DEI ratings and will be rolling it out gradually in order to provide charities ample time to incorporate, report, and potentially improve their equity practices. Our preliminary assessment of the nonprofit's DEI practices was developed with the expertise and advice of dozens of leaders in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors and is based on the Equity Strategies information collected through Candid's Demographics profile. The National Council of Nonprofits has compiled several resources and studies that document how effective DEI practices can help organizations cultivate staff belonging and motivation, improve management and governance practices, and spark innovation that can help nonprofits achieve their missions. There is a growing body of research which shows that effective DEI practices can promote a more positive organizational culture, which can influence the nonprofit's ability to achieve impact on the people and communities they serve. At least annually, the Guardian Angel Thrift sponsors community activities that bring acknowledgement and education of Alzheimers to the public in North Carolina, which results in further interest in donations and patronage to the Guardian Angel Thrift stores. ![]() This strategic partnership allows for our charity receivers to pass their publishing research and medical writings to a wide variety of recipients, including programs at the university levels. ![]() The Guardian Angel is partnered with NC Dementia Alliance-a Raleigh based non profit organization, to raise awareness of Alzheimers research and respite care for those already affected by this disease. What are this organization’s external mobilizaton efforts? This organization mobilizes for mission in the following ways: The nonprofit provides evidence of leadership through focusing externally and mobilizing resources for the mission. Goal Type: Invest in the capacity of our organization (financial, management, technical, etc.). Goal Three: With the Guardian Angel Thrift Endowment Fund, we are building financial resources that allow patrons and donors to invest in the cure movement against Alzheimers and its negative effects on citizens. Goal Type: Grow, expand, scale or increase access to the existing programs and services. Our objectives in 2021 and beyond are to enhance a full line of products to sell in this capacity. Goal Two: The Guardian Angel Thrift has used online sales, as well as storefronts to raise funds. Goal Type: New program(s) based on observed changes in needs among our constituencies/communities served. We anticipate using social media to advertise our mission and goals. is to provide funds for Alzheimers Research through sales of donated goods and to provide jobs for the community.
